Dr. Nichole Kostiuk, founder and dentist at TRU Dentistry SoCo in South Austin, TX

Welcome Dr. Acosta!!

Dr. Acosta grew up in Marfa, Texas, and always knew she wanted a career where she could work with people and make a difference in their lives. She attended Texas A&M University Corpus Christi, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science. She later continued her education at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in El Paso, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree.

Today, Dr. Acosta enjoys many different aspects of dentistry, with a special interest in cosmetic dentistry, restorative care, and clear aligner treatment. She has also completed Level 1 sedation training, allowing her to better care for patients who may feel nervous or anxious about visiting the dentist.

A DIFFERENT KIND OF DENTAL EXPERIENCE

For Dr. Acosta, dentistry is about more than just treating teeth. She believes that taking the time to listen and truly understand each patient is an important part of providing great care. Her philosophy is built around kindness, connection, and understanding each patient's individual needs. She wants her patients to feel comfortable speaking openly, asking questions, and knowing that their concerns are being heard. Building genuine relationships with her patients is one of her favorite parts of being a dentist, and she hopes each person who visits feels like more than just another patient. Whether she is helping someone improve their smile, restoring a tooth, or simply helping them feel more comfortable at the dentist, Dr. Acosta strives to make every visit a positive and welcoming experience.

DENTISTRY RUNS IN THE FAMILY

Dr. Acosta is excited to join her brother, David, at TRU Dentistry. David has been working with TRU Dentistry for the past five years, and she is excited to now be working alongside him. She was also the one who encouraged David to pursue a career in dentistry, so being able to share the dental field and work together makes this next chapter especially meaningful. She looks forward to building something special together and creating a place where patients feel comfortable, welcomed, and cared for.

LIFE OUTSIDE THE OFFICE

After growing up in the small West Texas town of Marfa, Dr. Acosta was drawn to Austin for its diversity, energy, and the opportunity to be closer to her siblings. She has loved getting to know the city and discovering everything Austin has to offer. When she's not practicing dentistry, you'll probably find Dr. Acosta working out, going on long walks, reading, fishing, or planning her next trip. She also loves spending time with family and enjoying Austin's outdoor activities, live music, and festivals. For Dr. Acosta, being part of a dental practice is about creating a place where people feel comfortable, welcomed, and genuinely cared for and she's excited to build those connections with the Austin community.
